This slicer was a model made for the European market.
This was brought over from Italy about 8 or 9 years ago. It has just sat in the back of a warehouse unit recently. The family that got this, they never used it and forgot about it and it just sat up high on a pallet shelf on a pallet collecting dust for over 8 years untouched until now when they were clearing the space.
Manually, we moved the flywheel and it spins fine and the carriage goes forward and back on its own fine, without even adding any grease or anything.
But the blade, I have no idea how to get it to engage, the blade should move, as I move the flywheel, but it does not. There is one position where the flywheel does make the blade move a tiny bit but the blade and flywheel both stop and do not move at all. Then when the pull switch is adjusted back to the regular position, flywheel moves freely again.
Again, we have no idea if it's our error or what that is not engaging the blade.
Also, we do not have the proper power to test this unit, so we do not know if the automatic feature or motor works. The plug on there is a 3PH European plug. This was imported directly from Italy.
The only thing I can say works as of right now is the flywheel spins freely and the carriage moves up and back perfectly. Anything with the blade we do not know how to get that to move.
The slicer looks to be in good shape after we wiped it down.
There are scratches and scuffs on various parts of the slicer from handling. There should be a "Berkel" emblem on the flywheel, it is missing.
There are some scuffs and paint chips on the blade cover.
The chrome on the flywheel also has scuffs and scratches.
On the carriage holder, there is some surface rust on the poles that hold down the press for the meat, I guess from just sitting. Still comes up and down fine with some grease.
It is missing the scrap tray that sits behind the blade area, where the meat would come after being sliced.
Slicer only, cart it sits on is not included.
Since we do not know much about this unit, this is SOLD AS IS, working condition unknown.
