    Description

I am offering an envelope from 1963 or early 1964 from the Department of State U.S.A. with materials on how to become a Foreign Service Officer.
Items include The Foreign Service Officer - a career in the U.S. Department of State booklet - dated May 1963 - 38 pages - at least one photo of President Kennedy as well as a quote from the President in the front of the booklet.
Sample questions from the examination booklet for Foreign Service Officer or Foreign Service Career Reserve Officer.  52 pages - tough questions - several annotations made by the original owner - Dated December 1963
United States Department of State - 1964 Examinations for Foreign Service Officers (blue booklet in photos) - 12 pages - there are two of these - one is complete and the other has the application form DSP-24 cut out as the original owner obviously applied to be a Foreign Service Officer.  This had to be postmarked no later than January 20, 1964.
Thus, this Department of State Foreign Service Officer booklets is from late 1963 with an acceptance date of early 1964.
The final item is a page detailing current information concerning the selection of Foreign Service Officers. The original owner made annotations on the back of this sheet with answers from his (or her) practice examination.
Interesting vintage Department of State memorabilia - was probably most likely non-James Bond like for this government job position.
