    Description

    Up for auction is a 1964 original, unused political bumper sticker regarding the Rumford Fair Housing Act and California Proposition 14, the sponsored initiative amendment to counteract the effects of the Rumford Act.
    The sticker states, “Abolish Rumford Forced Housing / YES on Prop. 14”.
    The Rumford Fair Housing Act was passed in 1963 by the California Legislature to help end racial discrimination by property owners and landlords who refused to sell or rent their property to people of color.
    In 1964, the California Real Estate Association sponsored an initiative to counteract the effects of the Rumford Act.
